This year, we decided to make paper roses for our Valentine’s window display. They turned out so adorable, we thought we’d share the how-to here! You can group a bunch of them together like we did, or make one and attach it to a stem…the perfect gift topper for your Valentine!

Paper Rose How-to

1. start with a long strip of paper (about 4”x13” or longer). if you have to, cut a couple strips & glue them together so that it’s long enough.

2. fold the paper in half

3. fold the paper down about halfway (not to be confused with folding the paper in half!)

4. fold the paper in half again

5. take the long folded strip of paper and start wrapping it around itself. you may want to twist and turn a little bit so it looks more like a flower instead of just a roll.

6. hot glue the end and you’ll have yourself a rose!

Since I was a child, my mother has always given us Valentine gifts – always included some candy, a handwritten card, and then another gift like a piece of jewelry or perfume. Because of this I have always been a strong believer that Valentine’s Day isn’t just a day to express your love for your husband/boyfriend/lover, but it is a day to celebrate love for everyone in your life. So, every year I make a point to send a card to each of my sisters, my best friend, and of course, my mother. Here are a few of my favorite Valentine’s cards in the shop now.

I love this card for a friend or a sibling. The inside reads “You are on that list. Happy Valentine’s Day.” Light, fun, and to the point.

Although this isn’t specifically a Valentine card – I think this one is so darn cute! Good for a BFF, a parent, a significant other, or any mac and cheese lover. Inside is blank.

This is a beautiful letter press card with scalloped edges. It would fit well for a significant other or anyone else who you just want to know you love them. Inside is blank.

I love this card for friends who are single and anti-Valentine’s Day people (we all know someone like that! ) Inside is blank for your own mushy (or not so mushy) message.

This is one of my favorite times of years, besides for the holiday tunes, glimmering lights, and of course the eggnog, it’s the time of year when I load up on calendars for the next year. Not only do I love them for my house, my office, and about anywhere else I can find a place for them (I know it’s a little obsessive at times), I absolutely love them for hostess gifts, co-worker gifts, and stocking stuffers!
